We’re inviting all our volunteers and supporters to help celebrate our first anniversary with us.
We will be hosting a party at the Somerset Boat Centre in North Newton on Sunday, July 21.
Since we officially started just over a year ago, we’ve had a huge amount of support from the community and local businesses and we just wanted to host an event to bring us all together and enjoy the canal and to also say ‘thank you’.
People who attend on Sunday, July 21 will get the chance to use the equipment at the Somerset Boat Centre in North Newton such as the paddleboards, Canadian canoes and single and double kayaks. There will also be mini skippered narrow boat cruises. Plus the chance to have a go in a self-drive motorboat with a Rage Against Rubbish crew member.
We’re keen to get more people on the waterway and enjoy the stunning canal which is on our doorstep.
Tickets will cost £15 per adult and £5 for children aged 10 to 18. Under 10s are free. A family ticket, which includes two adults and two children aged 10 to 18, will cost £35.
The ticket money is to cover the cost of the activities at the Somerset Boat Centre with proceeds to us for equipment.
We would like to say a huge ‘thank you’ to the Somerset Boat Centre for organising this with us. The ticket cost will also include a non-alcoholic drink on arrival, a raffle ticket with the chance to win some fantastic prizes donated by local businesses and an ice-cream. Thanks also to Refresco for providing the entry soft drinks free of charge.
