Thanks to Viridor for its charitable donation

A huge ‘thank you’ to Viridor, one of the UK’s leading recycling and waste management companies, who recently supported us with a donation.

We applied for a charitable donation from the company in Taunton and were successful in receiving £173.34 to go towards our litter picking equipment.

We were in desperate need of some litter pickers and bag rings for our volunteers to use on our monthly litter picks as we had more than 50 volunteers at one of our recent litter picks, which was fantastic, but we didn’t have enough equipment to go around.

With the money we were able to buy 24 litter pickers and 10 bag rings, which will really help us during our future rubbish clearing events along the Bridgwater & Taunton Canal.

Stephanie Rooke from Viridor’s Charitable Donations Committee, said: “We see waste as a valuable resource capable of taking on new life, but this is only possible if it ends up in the bin, rather than in the environment.

“We are delighted to support Rage Against Rubbish so it can buy more equipment for its volunteers. The group plays a vital role in keeping our community clean, safe and enjoyable for all, including our wildlife.

“We welcome excellent community initiatives near our sites to apply for a Viridor charitable donation.”
